Castle Neuschwanstein, Germany. Unesco Tentative List

An Autumnal card showing Castle Neuschwanstein in Germany.  The castle is on Unesco's Tentative List.  Thank you Helen.

Sunday

Tiahunaco, Bolivia, Unesco

An amazing UNESCO card of the Bolivian site 'Tiwanaku: Spiritual and Political Centre of the Tiwanaku Culture'.  I won't be able to mark off that site on my list yet as I only count sites that are sent from country of origin and this one was sent from Germany, but it's still a great card to have.  Thank you Weiss.

Monastic Island of Reichenau, Germany - UNESCO Multiview

When this card arrived I was looking forward to marking another site off of my UNESCO list.  It is a WHC site and it is one I don't already have, but unfortuately my own self imposed rules mean that my UNESCO cards only count if they're from the country of origin.  Sadly, this German site comes from a Swiss postcrosser but it is a wonderful multiview and I'm delighted to have it, I just can mark off that site.  Thank you for a marvelous card Simone.

Friday

UNESCO - St Michaels Church, Hildesheim, Germany

My UNESCO collection is getting bigger with the addition of this St Mary's Cathedral and St Michael's Church at Hildesheim card.  Sent by Katharina in Germany who tells me that it is almost 1000 years old and during the celebrations for it they put up scaffolding all around it, sadly.

Art - Frederic Leighton, Flaming June. Germany

Flaming June by the artist Frederic Leighton (1830-1896).  Painted in 1895, the year before he died.  This was sent by Sophia in Germany.

Saturday

Town of Gottingen, Germany

Very nice MultiView showing various scenes from the town of Gottingen.  Niklas sent this to me from Germany and he tells me that if you want to get your Doctors degree from the city's old and famous university you have to kiss the bronze statue "Ganseliesel" which stands in the middle of a fountain (bottom middle pic on postcard).  I wonder how many times that gentleman has been kissed?!

Nurnberg, Germany

A lovely card from Ismene in Germany showing (if I've understood the message correctly) James Hospital in the middle of Nuremberg. What a lovely setting for a hospital, the people in the wards that have windows overlooking the river have lovely views.

UNESCO - Potsdam, Germany

Another UNESCO postcard, this time it's the Palaces and Parks of Potsdam and Berlin. This is Sanssouci and Wikipedia tells me this about it : 'Sanssouci is the Summer palace of Frederick the Great, King of Prussia, in Potsdam near Berlin.  It is often counted among the German rivals of Versailles.  Thanks Sabrina

Thursday

Carousel horses

Cute card from Gina in Germany.  Carousel horse liberating themselves and running free.

Shoes

Everyone loves shoes, right?! These come from Ylona in Berlin, Germany.

Beach Seagull

Great beach scene seagull card from Joachim who lives on the coast of the Baltic Sea in Germany.

Dog

A cute dog card from Tania in Germany but there is nothing to say what kind of dog it is.  Certainly is a fluffy one though.

Wednesday

UNESCO - Brandenburg Gate

Brandenburg Gate, Berlin, Germany.  A nice UNESCO card which covers Palaces and Parks of Potsdam and Berlin.

Chili Nouvelle

A marvelous Chili Peppers Nouvelle postcard from Seiglinde in Germany.

Monday

Duckling

I'm not sure if this is a duckling or a gosling but either way it's very cute.  I wonder if it's running towards something or running away from something.

Thanks Fenja and Gudrun

Sunday

Whale

A very nice hump backed whale card from a postcrosser in Germany.  Great stamps too.

Just a pity the post office sorting machine has left that horrible white scuff right in the middle.

Wednesday

Erding, Germany

Very nice MultiView showing various scenes from the town of Erding.  Denise sent this to me from her hometown in Germany.

Friday

Munich

A lovely black and white shot of the Town Hall in Munich.  From Birgit in Germany.
