UNESCO, Naarden, The Netherlands

 

This marvelous fortified town is Naarden in The Netherlands.  It has been included in the UNESCO site 'Dutch Water Defence Lines' since 2021.  I received this before that time and just thought it was a cool card.  Now, I think it's a cool UNESCO card!  Thank you Mildred who lives in Naarden.

UNESCO Kinderdijk Windmills, The Netherlands

Sabine from the Netherlands sent me this card of the famous windmills of the Kinderdijk.  I have belatedly realised that this is a UNESCO site so another one is marked off!

There's something quite Gestalt about Nouvelles postcards.  This one shows Designer seating and comes from Caroline in The Netherlands.

Girl in the Pearl earring with telephone

This 'Girl in the Pearl Earring' card comes from Vic in the Netherlands.  He tells me this spoof of a painting by Dutch artist Vermeer is used to tell people when you change your telephone number.  Hence the phone in the picture.  It says at the bottom of the postcard in tiny writing, 'Mun Nieuwe Telefoonnummer' which means 'My new telephone number' Dutch.

I love night view cards and this great one from Frouwke in the Netherlands shows Erasmusbrug (Erasmus Bridge) in Rotterdam.

I've got a 'thing' for the colours green and pink together, and also the shabby chic style so this green and pink birdhouse was right up my street.

Reflected Dutch Houses

This is a really nice card of traditional Dutch houses by the waterfront, sent to me by Kim in The Netherlands.  

If you enlarge the photo and look at the middle house, it's lop-sided!  It looks like the houses on either side are holding it up :D

 

Delft Blue Tiles

I'm drawn to Delft Tiles the same way I'm drawn to Chinese Willow pattern plates.  There's something very soothing about blue and white pottery.  I've recieved this postcard twice now, once from Annemieke and again from Ingrid.  Both ladies live in
The Netherland.  Both stamps shown but (obviously) only one card pic.
