UNESCO - Camino de Santiago, Spain

A very nice map card showing the route of the Camino de Santiago.  A great addition to my UNESCO collection and I can now mark off 'Routes of Santiago de Compostela'.  Thank you Anastasia.

UNESCO - Historic city of Toledo

Another great UNESCO card for my collection, this time it's the Historic City of Toledo.  Sent from Spain by Fabienne.

Wednesday

Benalmadena, Spain

Nice aeriel viewcard of Benalmadena harbour sent by Anna in Spain.

UNESCO - Alhambra, Granada, Spain

A lovely UNESCO card from Carmen in Spain,

Rising above the modern lower town, the Alhambra and the Albaycín, situated on two adjacent hills, form the medieval part of Granada. To the east of the Alhambra fortress and residence are the magnificent gardens of the Generalife, the former rural residence of the emirs who ruled this part of Spain in the 13th and 14th centuries. The residential district of the Albaycín is a rich repository of Moorish vernacular architecture, into which the traditional Andalusian architecture blends harmoniously.

UNESCO - Salamanca, Spain

A great addition to my UNESCO collection from Spain.  I love nightviews and this one of the Plaza Mayor, Salamanca is amazing.

Salamanca is an ancient university town situated in the west of Spain in the Autonomous Community of Castilla and León. The Carthaginians first conquered the city in the 3rd century B.C. It then became a Roman settlement before being ruled by the Moors until the 11th century. The university, one of the oldest in Europe, reached its high point during Salamanca's Golden Age. The city's historic centre has important Romanesque, Gothic, Moorish, Renaissance, and Baroque monuments. The Plaza Mayor, with its galleries and arcades, is particularly impressive.

Thanks Fabienne

Monday

Texas

This Texas postcard comes from a postcrosser in Spain.  It's a great card but I won't count it towards my US state name cards collection as it's not posted from the US.

The armadillo, sometimes referred to as the Texas cockroach has no teeth, therefore it's diet consists of mainly insects, which they catch with their long, sticky tongue.

Thursday

Sepia bike

Nice sepia effect bike card sent to me by famalubel in Spain.

Unfortunately it's been blighted by the white-scuff-of-doom that the post office machines dish out :(

Friday

Barcelona, Casa Batilo - Gaudi, UNESCO

Another UNESCO site crossed off the list with the arrival of this lovely card. The works of Gaudi in Barcelona. Gaudi was the architect behind 7 properties in Barcelona and this one is Casa Batllo, built between 1905/07. It looks so modern and colourful it could have been built just yesterday. The sky is so clear and bright it looks like a painted wall behind the building.

Thanks Jordi!
