Spring in Holland, The Netherlands

This is one of the unlucky cards which received 'The Fold' from my 'Horrible Ex-Postman'. It's still a great card though and although I can't read it, I think it shows interesting facts and figures relating to Moscow. Thank you Kate in Russia!

UNESCO - Camino de Santiago, Spain

A very nice map card showing the route of the Camino de Santiago. A great addition to my UNESCO collection and I can now mark off 'Routes of Santiago de Compostela'. Thank you Anastasia.

Tiahunaco, Bolivia, Unesco

An amazing UNESCO card of the Bolivian site 'Tiwanaku: Spiritual and Political Centre of the Tiwanaku Culture'. I won't be able to mark off that site on my list yet as I only count sites that are sent from country of origin and this one was sent from Germany, but it's still a great card to have. Thank you Weiss.

UNESCO - The Yaroslav's Court, Russia

A lovely card from Liza showing The Yaroslav's Court. What great timing to get the photograph at exactly the right angle to look like the Rainbow had landed directly on the building. This card will allow me to mark off my Russia UNESCO site 'Historical Centre of the City of Yaroslavl'.

A little bit of a mystery with this one too though. There was a little paper ticket attached to the back of the postcard with a paperclip. I don't know what it says or means and I don't know if it was the sender or the mail service that added it but it's interesting either way. If you know what it says, please let me know. I can't believe it made it all the way from Russia to Scotland with the paperclip and bit of paper still attached but I'm glad it did!

Monastic Island of Reichenau, Germany - UNESCO Multiview

When this card arrived I was looking forward to marking another site off of my UNESCO list. It is a WHC site and it is one I don't already have, but unfortuately my own self imposed rules mean that my UNESCO cards only count if they're from the country of origin. Sadly, this German site comes from a Swiss postcrosser but it is a wonderful multiview and I'm delighted to have it, I just can mark off that site. Thank you for a marvelous card Simone.

Illinois, Northern Cardinal.

A very lovely card from Diane in America. Illinois Wildlife with a picture of a cheery Northern Cardinal. Great stamps too and the little racoon sticker is too cute. He looks black in the scan but is actually gold. A great card to add to my US State Card Collection.

UNESCO - St Sohphia's Cathedral, Kiev, Ukraine

I stopped Postcrossing for a couple of years and so stopped blogging too because no postcards were coming in. But now I'm back doing both and very happy about it. I stopped postcrossing because of my horrible postman. My letterbox is big enough to put most mail through, even pretty thick packets, but the postman insisted on folding everything and then putting it in the letterbox.

VERY upsetting to see my postcards folded in half with big creases. I of course asked him to stop and explained how upsetting it was and he said it was no problem and he's stop doing it. But, did he stop? NO!! I couldn't bear it so had to give up postcrossing and hoped he'd move on to another area. It took almost 2 years but then a new postman turned up one day and my mail was unfolded so I tentatively started to postcross again. All was well for a while but I saw my old mailman delivering in the area yesterday and I have all my fingers crossed that he wasn't just absent temporarily. I don't want him back!! *Cries*. Please, CROSS YOU FINGERS FOR ME!

For now though, I have plenty of older (and some recent) cards to work through so here we go....

I thought I'd start with this one since it's a country that is on my mind a lot lately. My heart and prayers go out to the people of Ukraine and hope their suffering will end soon.

Olga sent me this UNESCO card some time ago and it shows Views of St. Sophia Cathedral built in the 11th Century so they're over 1000 years old!. Kyiv is known as the 'City of Golden Domes' and I hope that these domes will last another 1000 years. Thank you Olga, I hope you're safe <3

UNESCO site 'Cultural Landscape of Sintra', showing the Pena Palace which dates back to 1839. The palace is one of the Portuguese wonders.

We've been to Disneyworld several times but never visited Disneyland so it was nice to get this card form Amanda in California. Pictured is Sleeping Beauty's castle with the swans in the moat.

UNESCO - St Michaels Church, Hildesheim, Germany

My UNESCO collection is getting bigger with the addition of this St Mary's Cathedral and St Michael's Church at Hildesheim card. Sent by Katharina in Germany who tells me that it is almost 1000 years old and during the celebrations for it they put up scaffolding all around it, sadly.
